Today was our trip out day, we all went to Hopetown in Darlington, as part of the Stockton And Darlington Railway Bicentennial celebrations. Hopetown is a former railway station which is now a museum dedicated to the early days of the railways. As well as a few full size trains, there are many interactive displays and opportunities to dress in old-time clothing, which the children enjoyed greatly. The weather was kind to us and we ate a picnic lunch in bright sunshine prior to the children spending the last hour on the adventure playground, which is a magnificent addition to the museum. Getting the young people back to the bus was a challenge but we managed without leaving anyone behind.

Lots and lots of pictures today. Some from John and some from people’s phones.
