A Stockton Nativity
This week some of our StarmakerZ choir dressed as angels so they could be part of a Stockton Nativity organised by The Infant Hercules Choir. Other members of our choir went along to join in the Christmas singalong, which took place in Stockton’s Hilton Hotel. The event was a humorous retelling of the nativity tale, with a local twist, plus a sing-along with traditional carols and some more modern songs, which was enjoyed by everyone who attended. “Infant Hercules was formed as part of the Festival of the North East in 2013. Supported by Theatre Royal, Mike McGrother assembled a group of men through the persuasive ‘arts’ medium of a ‘Free Pint’. From small beginnings in the Red Lion, Norton, the group soon grew and now meets on Thursday evenings upstairs in The Storytellers Pub or in The Arc on Dovecot Street in the town. Singing songs of lads and dads in the key of Ale, the choir is open to all men and boys who want to sing with pride about the past, the current and the future of Teesside.”
